My research is within the domain of Earth science including geochemistry, atmospheric science, tectonics, and geochronology.

I've been involved in projects focused on the uplift history of the Altiplano through stable isotopes (oxygen) of fossil teeth. More recently, I have been doing field work in west China trying to constrain timing of deformation in the Pamir (western syntaxis of the Himalayan orogen) through provenance studies. I am also studying stable isotopes of modern surface water throughout the Tarim Basin (China) to better understand how climate was affected by the rise of Tibet and vice-versa.

I presented a poster at AGU in the Fall of 2006 entitled:
High Altitude Dentistry: Understanding Altiplano Paleoclimate and Paleoelevation through Stable Isotopes of Mammal Teeth
